THE SOUND COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED

She Stops at Costa’s

It is a fairly traditional opera based on a script by David Cottis. I’ve tried to approach it in with a “real life” soundtrack with influences from popular genres.

There are 3 singers (a WOMAN - soprano, a BARISTA - tenor, and a MAN - high baritone).

To help following the score, I’ve added timed comments along the playback path with lines from the script.

On this recording the voices are performed by double reed instruments as, in the time allowed, I wasn’t able to get singers. However, with the score, I think it gives a good idea of my intentions for how the piece goes.

The “orchestra” accompanying is simply a piano and a ‘cello.
